Set in Morocco's far north-east about 600 kilometres from Casablanca, a short drive from the long-closed Algerian border and the Mediterranean resort coast of Saïdia, Oujda-Angad Airport (OUD/GMFO) is the gateway to the Oriental region's capital. Two 3,000-metre runways host several carriers – Royal Air Maroc, Ryanair, Air Arabia Maroc, Transavia, TUI fly and ASL Airlines France – flying mostly diaspora routes, with Paris-Orly, Casablanca and Marseille the busiest. The airport offers no scheduled freighters and no dedicated cargo terminal; air freight rides as belly load on passenger services. Motorway and rail links tie the region to the Mediterranean port of Beni Nsar. Genuine air cargo volumes are consolidated at Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN).
