## Description

On 1 June 2025, Ukraine's long-planned drone raid Operation Spiderweb struck Olenya, destroying at least four Tu-95MS strategic bombers and an An-12 transport according to satellite imagery. Olenya is a Russian Aerospace Forces military airfield near Olenegorsk on the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast, about 92 km south of Murmansk city. It hosts long-range Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 bombers and serves as an Arctic dispersal and refuelling base; there is no civilian passenger or cargo traffic.
