## Description

Unlike the busy coastal field at Lomé, Togo's second airport sits quietly in the north near Niamtougou, serving mainly the air force and government flights. Scheduled commercial service has never taken hold; Air Burkina's Ouagadougou–Niamtougou–Lomé attempt proved commercially unviable. With no cargo terminal or freight handling on site, LRL is not a working air-freight option for forwarders. Shipments for northern Togo are cleared and flown through Lomé–Tokoin (LFW) some 400 km south, then trucked the remaining distance. For now the field functions more as a strategic reserve than as an active freight point.
