## Description

Capital of the Adamawa region and a livestock-trading centre on the plateau, N'Gaoundéré owes its logistics weight to the railway: it is the northern terminus of the Trans-Cameroon line from Douala and Yaoundé, from which goods continue by road to landlocked Chad and the Central African Republic. N'Gaoundéré Airport (NGE) itself handles mainly Camair-Co domestic flights and carries little freight. Meaningful air cargo routes through the main cargo airport at Douala (DLA). At around 1,100 metres, the surrounding plateau is known for cattle and as a gateway toward the Sahel.
