## Description

Two parallel 3,000-metre runways, 24-hour operations and a rail station inside the terminal: New Chitose (IATA: CTS) is one of the few airports in Japan licensed for round-the-clock flying, and by far the largest airport on Hokkaido. Freight moves mainly as belly cargo on the dense ANA and JAL domestic network — the Sapporo–Tokyo Haneda route is among the busiest air corridors in the world — alongside international passenger links to East Asia. Hokkaido's export specialities, from scallops and sea urchin to dairy products, account for much of the outbound volume. The cargo terminal offers customs clearance and secure storage, with handling provided by local companies such as Hokkaido Airport Terminal. For large international consignments, forwarders typically route via Narita or Haneda.
