## Description

Korean Air Cargo has run Navoi Airport (NVI) as an intercontinental freight base since 2009, making it Central Asia's leading cargo gateway. The carrier operates around 16 weekly Boeing 747-400F and 777F freighter rotations to Incheon, Brussels, Vienna, Basel and Milan. Korean Air's cargo terminal here is designed for roughly 100,000 tonnes a year and can be scaled up to 500,000 tonnes as demand grows. The airport is tied directly to the Navoi Free Industrial Economic Zone (FIEZ), a duty-privileged area combining manufacturing, warehousing and re-export. Navoi positions itself as a multimodal node where airfreight meets the rail corridors linking China, Central Asia and Europe, plus the national road network. A further cargo terminal of roughly 16,000 m², built for general, valuable and dangerous goods as well as e-commerce, is under construction to lift capacity. For forwarders, Navoi is the pivotal transfer point for Europe-Asia traffic using the Middle Corridor.
