## Description

Once a linchpin of Allied air power in the South Atlantic, wartime Natal — nicknamed the «Trampoline to Victory» — today hosts a military installation rather than a commercial freight gateway. The Base Aérea de Natal (SBNT) is operated by the Brazilian Air Force and is closed to scheduled passenger and cargo traffic. Since 2014 those services run from the newer São Gonçalo do Amarante International Airport (NAT/SBSG), roughly 30 kilometres to the west. Forwarders handling shipments for Rio Grande do Norte therefore plan via NAT or the Recife cargo station. For logistics professionals, SBNT is best understood as a historical landmark, not an operational airfreight node.
