## Description

Until February 2005, Nagoya Airfield at Komaki (IATA: NKM) was the region's main international airport — then Chubu Centrair (NGO) opened on its offshore island and took over every scheduled international and cargo operation. Today NKM serves as the operational base of Fuji Dream Airlines' domestic Embraer network, shares its runway with the JASDF's Komaki transport wing, and hosts Mitsubishi Heavy Industries facilities including the F-35 final assembly line for Japan. No commercial freight is handled on site; shippers in the Nagoya manufacturing belt route air cargo exclusively through Centrair, which also receives Boeing's Dreamlifter 787 wing flights.
