## Description

A 15,000-square-foot freight terminal with a fully integrated material-handling system, a 12-ton weighbridge and a ULD transfer vehicle makes Nadi the South Pacific's leading air-cargo gateway. As Fiji Airways' home base, the airport links the islands to North America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Dubai and several Chinese cities, with Fiji Link covering the regional network. Fiji Airways has converted an ATR 72-600 into a freighter for inter-island work, and a new, larger cargo terminal is under development. Perishables dominate the outbound flow — fish, seafood and tropical produce bound for Pacific Rim markets. The seaport of Lautoka lies only a few kilometres away, complementing the air route. Customs, biosecurity and quarantine follow Fijian regulations. For forwarders, Nadi is the consolidation point for freight to and from the Pacific island states.
