## Description

MZV exists almost solely because of a natural wonder: the UNESCO-listed Gunung Mulu, with its vast caves set deep in Sarawak's rainforest. With no road access, the small airport is the only practical way in for most visitors. Since January 2026 it has been flown by the Sarawak state carrier AirBorneo — successor to MASwings — using ATR and Twin Otter aircraft from Miri, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Freight barely features: what moves is mainly supplies for the park lodges and belly load on the tourist services. The airport has no cargo terminal, so commercial consignments are handled at Miri instead. For forwarders, Mulu is purely a tourism-and-supply field with no cargo role.
