## Description

Unlike most Polynesian island fields, Moorea Temae Airport (MOZ) faces stiff competition from the sea: fast ferries cross the 17-kilometre channel from Papeete in about half an hour, carrying most passengers and nearly all freight. Air Tahiti still serves the tourist island with brief ATR hops, but volumes are light. The airport has no cargo terminal, and goods for Moorea arrive overwhelmingly by car and freight ferry rather than by air. It is candidly not a cargo facility. Tahiti Faa'a (PPT), visible across the lagoon, handles any air freight for the area.
