## Description

Long Canada's busiest flight-training field, Saint-Hubert (YHU) is reinventing itself as Montreal's second scheduled-passenger airport. In June 2026 a new nine-gate terminal run by Porter Airlines — branded the Montréal Metropolitan Airport (MET) — opens with capacity for up to four million passengers a year. Set in the Saint-Hubert district of Longueuil southeast of Montreal, the airport has long combined flight training with business aviation and Pratt & Whitney Canada flight-test work. From mid-June 2026 Porter launches around a dozen domestic routes from the MET terminal, including Calgary, Halifax, Quebec City, Vancouver and Winnipeg. Dedicated freight handling is not part of the airport's profile: regional air cargo moves through the specialised Mirabel (YMX) and Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) airports. For freight forwarders, YHU is therefore mainly a passenger and business-aviation site, relevant at most for belly capacity on its new scheduled flights.
