## Description

Built in the 1960s around the Cold War BOMARC missile base CFB La Macaza, the airport at La Macaza now flies skiers and golfers rather than interceptors. Today known as Mont-Tremblant International Airport (YTM), it sits about 130 km northwest of Montreal and works mainly as a seasonal tourism gateway to the Laurentians and the Mont-Tremblant resort. Seasonal scheduled and charter flights — including Porter Airlines and Air Canada services from Toronto — drive winter and summer peaks, with much quieter shoulder seasons in between. The airport handles no meaningful freight: regional air cargo moves through Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) and Mirabel (YMX). For freight forwarders, YTM is therefore essentially a passenger-only resort field rather than a cargo option.
