## Description

Behind the code LOV sits Aeropuerto Internacional Venustiano Carranza, the airport of Mexico's steel capital, Monclova, located in the suburb of Frontera. Despite the "international" name, it currently runs no scheduled passenger service — only executive, air-taxi and training flights, after Continental Express (to Houston, until 2008) and Aeromar (to Mexico City) came and went. Steel does not fly either: slabs and coils from Altos Hornos de México leave by rail and truck toward the border and the coast. Time-critical air cargo for central Coahuila is handled through Monterrey (MTY). For forwarders, LOV is a business airfield rather than a freight point — heavy industry here rolls, it does not take off.
