## Description

About 150,000 tonnes a year is the rated capacity of the two cargo terminals at Mohammed V International (CMN/GMMN) in Nouaceur, southeast of Casablanca — comfortably Morocco's largest air freight facility, spread over roughly 30,000 m². The airport is the home base of Royal Air Maroc Cargo and is also served by carriers including Saudia Cargo and Air France Cargo, alongside the integrators DHL, FedEx and UPS. Swissport is among the ground handlers on site. Traffic reflects the surrounding industry: aerospace parts from the Midparc free zone next to the airport, automotive components from the Casablanca–Kenitra corridor, and perishables such as fruit, vegetables and cut flowers exported to Europe. Under ONDA's "Airports 2030" programme, groundwork for a new 600,000 m² terminal began in July 2025, sized for 20 million passengers in its first phase; the roughly USD 1.28 billion construction contract went to the SGTM–TGCC consortium in January 2026, with opening targeted for 2029. The programme also covers a new freight station of about 30,000 m², some 16,000 m² of it covered. The A3 and A7 motorways link the airport to the port of Casablanca (about 30 km) and Tanger Med (about 330 km), making sea-air combinations workable. For consignments to the far north or south, Tangier Ibn Battouta (TNG) and Marrakech Menara (RAK) are the usual alternatives.
