## Description

Eastern Algeria's principal air gateway sits roughly nine kilometres south of Constantine, the dramatic City of Bridges perched above the Rhumel gorges. Named after assassinated president Mohamed Boudiaf, the airport (CZL/DABC) links the region with Algiers, Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Istanbul through Air Algérie and Tassili Airlines. Ground and cargo handling are provided by Swissport, though throughput is modest and consists mainly of belly freight on scheduled passenger services. Shippers with larger consignments route them through Algiers Houari Boumediene (ALG), Algeria's primary cargo hub about 320 kilometres west. Standing some 690 metres above sea level on the high plateau, CZL also serves a steady flow of business and pilgrimage traffic.
