Renamed Missoula Montana Airport in September 2021, MSO (ICAO: KMSO) sits on the Clark Fork in western Montana and doubles as the country's largest smokejumper base — the Aerial Fire Depot, one of seven nationwide, fields roughly 80 parachuting firefighters who deploy into remote wildfires. The airport crossed one million passengers for the first time in 2024, after a record 913,198 in 2023.
