## Description

From the day it opened, MTT existed to serve a single customer: the petrochemical complex of southern Veracruz. The current airport near Cosoleacaque dates to 1990 and gained international status in 2006, with Aeroméxico providing scheduled domestic service to the Minatitlán–Coatzacoalcos conurbation. It operates no freighter services; the region's bulk chemicals leave by the seaport of Coatzacoalcos, by pipeline and by rail rather than by air.
