## Description

The Pakistan Air Force is the sole operator of Mianwali (MWD), known since 2014 as PAF Base M.M. Alam after the fighter pilot of that name. Operational since October 1971 — when Shenyang F-6 jets flew combat sorties from here — the base in western Punjab on the Indus remains a military and training installation rather than a civil airport. No airline serves it and there is no cargo terminal or commercial handling.
