## Description

Unlike its busier Balearic sisters, Menorca trades volume for calm — a UNESCO biosphere reserve that favours gentle tourism, mirrored by its airport at Mahón (MAH, ICAO LEMH). The field handled more than 4.17 million passengers in 2024 (up about 3%, a record year) but only some 596 tonnes of cargo, almost all of it belly freight on passenger flights rather than dedicated freighters. In summer easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling and leisure carriers land in quick succession; in winter the schedule narrows to a handful of links to Palma, Barcelona and Madrid. With no cargo terminal or integrator base, fresh goods, mail and spare parts arrive in the hold, while heavier or specialised air freight is routed via Palma de Mallorca (PMI, roughly 150 km away). The airport sits just outside Maó, whose natural harbour — one of the deepest in the Mediterranean — carries most of the island's bulk freight by sea.
