## Description

MLN is the only airport of Melilla, a Spanish exclave on the North African coast that, together with Ceuta, forms Spanish territory on the African mainland. Melilla Airport (IATA: MLN, ICAO: GEML) set a record in 2024 with 507,957 passengers and 10,977 flights. It is served exclusively by Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum, flying ATR turboprops to around eleven Spanish cities, most frequently Málaga (AGP, five to eight daily services). A short runway of about 1,433 m and turboprop-only operations leave no meaningful air-cargo capacity; goods reach the city chiefly by ferry from Málaga and Almería. For forwarders, MLN is not an air-freight gateway — time-critical shipments route via Málaga, while most supplies arrive by sea.
