## Description

In the 1950s and 60s the United States ran a missile-tracking station on Mayaguana, briefly putting this remote eastern outlier of the Bahamas on the Cold War map. Today Mayaguana Airport (MYG) serves a community of only a few hundred, with sparse Bahamasair service and the occasional charter. There is no freight terminal or customs cargo bond, so cargo_capable is honestly false, and supplies reach the island mainly by sea. Time-critical air freight for the far southeastern Bahamas is handled through Lynden Pindling International in Nassau (NAS). The island remains one of the least developed and least visited in the entire archipelago.
