## Description

Since La Araucanía Airport (ZCO) opened in 2014, Maquehue (PZS) has lost its scheduled traffic and now serves mainly military and general-aviation uses. Sitting five kilometres southwest of Temuco, it was long the city's primary airport before limited capacity and safety margins forced the new build. Maquehue no longer plays any role in commercial goods transport; there is no cargo handling.
