## Description

On Kenya's Indian Ocean coast, beside the resort towns of Malindi and Watamu and barely 80 feet above sea level, MYD is a tourism airport rather than a freight one. It handles domestic and seasonal charter flights bringing holidaymakers to the beaches, with no commercial cargo terminal, cold storage or freight customs on site. Exports from the area, such as fish and farm produce, move through Moi International (MBA) in Mombasa, the nearest genuine cargo airport about 120 km south, or through Nairobi (NBO). A local curiosity is the nearby Italian-run Broglio (San Marco) space facility. For logistics, Malindi has no cargo role of its own.
