## Description

Set on Punta Europa at the northern tip of Bioko Island, Malabo International Airport (SSG) is the busiest gateway in Equatorial Guinea and a regional node in Central Africa. Its location beside the island's LNG and methanol complexes ties much of its cargo to the oil and gas industry, with equipment, spare parts and project freight moving alongside perishable consumer goods for the island. Ceiba Intercontinental and Cronos Airlines are based here, and foreign carriers such as Ethiopian Airlines and Air France provide links toward Central Africa and Europe. Cronos runs combined passenger and cargo services, while freight forwarders handle clearance through the national customs administration and onward delivery; domestic flights connect Malabo with the mainland airport at Bata several times a day. Because Bioko is reachable only by sea or air, the Port of Malabo complements the airport for heavy or non-urgent shipments. For forwarders, SSG is the principal air-freight entry point into the country.
