## Description

Built as a Soviet military airfield and opened to civil traffic after 1992, Magas Airport (IGT, ICAO URMS) today serves the Russian republic of Ingushetia. It lies near Ordzhonikidzevskaya and links the capital Magas and the larger city of Nazran almost entirely with Moscow, flown by Pobeda and a handful of regional carriers. The airport has no cargo terminal and handles no scheduled freight. Air cargo for the North Caucasus is consolidated at Mineralnye Vody (MRV), while Vladikavkaz (OGZ) is the nearest larger airport.
