## Description

A driverless people mover called the DART links the terminal to the railway station in under four minutes — since 2023 the signature upgrade at London Luton Airport (IATA: LTN, ICAO: EGGW). The airport is easyJet's corporate home and a major base for Wizz Air and Ryanair, with around 18 million passengers a year. Cargo plays a supporting role: a dedicated cargo centre handles express and general freight, while one of Europe's busiest business aviation communities — including Harrods Aviation and Signature — operates alongside. The town of Luton owns the airport; Spanish operator Aena holds the majority of the operating concession. For trucking, the site sits directly on the M1, England's main north–south artery, some 50 kilometres north of London. Larger consignments from the region usually truck to Stansted or East Midlands; Luton's strength is time-critical and express traffic. Government approval in April 2025 cleared expansion to 32 million passengers by 2043.
