## Description

Around 50 cadets received their pilot's wings here in early 2025: Latina Air Base south of Rome is home to the Italian Air Force's 70° Stormo "Giulio Cesare Graziani", the service's basic flight training school. Student pilots fly SF-260EA propeller trainers, and the wing also trains cadets from allied air forces. Set in the Agro Pontino plain, drained and settled in the 1930s, the base is strictly military, with no civilian traffic or cargo handling. Air freight from southern Lazio is processed via Rome Fiumicino (FCO, about 80 km), Italy's leading cargo airport alongside Milan Malpensa (MXP).
