## Description

Colombian freight carrier Aerosucre anchors the cargo side of La Chinita International (MAR), flying Boeing 727-200F freighters on regular runs to Bogotá. Venezuela's second-largest international airport after Caracas, MAR serves the oil-rich Zulia region around Lake Maracaibo and its 3.7 million inhabitants. Its cargo terminal offers about 1,165 m² of general storage, dedicated zones for dangerous goods and high-value consignments, and main-deck loaders rated to roughly 18 tonnes. Customs handling is geared above all to trade with neighbouring Colombia, with road links running toward the border and the seaport of Maracaibo. Passenger carriers Avior, Laser, Estelar, Conviasa and Copa add belly capacity on scheduled services. The field operates as a joint civil-military facility. For forwarders, MAR is the principal air-cargo access point in western Venezuela.
