## Description

Despite holding federal-airport status, Kurgan (IATA: KRO, ICAO: USUU), 6 km north-east of the city, is a passenger-only field and the main air gateway to the Trans-Urals (Zauralye). NordStar flies a seasonal route (November–March) to Moscow Domodedovo, while Ikar/Pegas Fly serve St Petersburg and Sochi – around seven flights a week, all domestic. There is no dedicated cargo terminal or customs clearance for air freight. Forwarders handle cargo through Yekaterinburg Koltsovo (SVX, about 356 km), the largest airport in the Urals, with Chelyabinsk (CEK) a closer alternative.
