## Description

Kuito, capital of Bié province, was among the cities hardest hit during Angola's civil war, and its airport (SVP) has since reverted to a quiet domestic role at roughly 1,700 m in the central highlands. It mainly links the town to Luanda, compensating for slow road access. There is no meaningful air cargo here: no dedicated freight terminal, and an economy built around local agriculture such as maize and beans. Freight moves as belly cargo or is consolidated for international export through NBJ near Luanda. Bié also falls within reach of the Benguela Railway, which takes heavier goods toward the Atlantic port of Lobito. For forwarders, SVP is purely a passenger and regional station.
