A sandy strip between mangroves and the Indian Ocean, Kiwayu (KWY) is an airstrip serving remote safari and beach lodges on Kiwayu Island in Kenya's Lamu archipelago. Light aircraft bring guests and lodge supplies; there is no cargo terminal, cold storage or customs facility, and the field sits barely 6 metres above sea level. Any freight from the area travels via the mainland and ultimately through Nairobi (NBO) for air export. The strip handles tourism traffic only.
