## Description

More than 5,000 surplus bombers and fighters were scrapped at Kingman (IATA: IGM, ICAO: KIGM) after the Second World War – one of the largest aircraft disposal operations in history. The storage business never left: across roughly 4,000 acres, about 250 airliners now park in the dry high-desert air between leases, with Jet Yard Solutions running an FAA Part 145 shop on site. Scheduled passenger service is marginal and there is no cargo handling. The adjoining industrial park hosts more than 70 businesses and leans on Interstate 40 and the BNSF Transcon next door; air freight routes via Las Vegas or Phoenix.
