## Description

Busy with passengers yet light on freight, Khon Kaen (KKC) is the main air gateway to Thailand's northeastern Isan region but no cargo centre: from January to November 2024 it handled only about 308 tonnes of air freight, well under 500 tonnes a year. Run by the Department of Airports, it is served by Thai AirAsia, Thai Vietjet, Nok Air and Thai Lion Air, almost entirely on Bangkok routes. What little cargo there is travels as belly load beneath passenger jets; there is no dedicated cargo terminal. For real air-freight volumes, forwarders consolidate shipments in Bangkok.
