## Description

Heavily damaged during the Russian occupation in 2022, Kherson International Airport (IATA: KHE, ICAO: UKOH) near Chornobaivka has remained out of service since the city's liberation. Located northwest of Kherson in southern Ukraine, it handles no air cargo, and its proximity to the front line makes any early resumption unlikely. Although Ukraine has been preparing a phased reopening of its airports through a working group since March 2026, front-line sites such as Kherson are expected to be among the last to follow. Ukrainian air freight is currently routed by road feeder to EU airports such as Rzeszów (RZE) in Poland.
