## Description

The southernmost airport of the continental United States handles passengers, not freight. Key West International Airport (IATA: EYW, ICAO: KEYW) works with a runway of barely 5,100 feet on a coral island – enough for narrowbody jets from American, Delta, United and Silver, far too short for freighters. Everything the island city consumes arrives by truck down the Overseas Highway from Miami, four hours and 42 bridges away; air shipments are booked from Miami International or Fort Lauderdale. About 1.5 million passengers a year now pass through a newly built concourse that replaced the cramped old terminal.
