## Description

Built by the Khmer Rouge with Chinese support in the late 1970s, Kampong Chhnang Airport (IATA: KZC) began life as a military airfield on the Tonle Sap plain. It still carries no civilian scheduled or freight service, seeing only military and occasional special flights. Air cargo plays no part here; shipments from this pottery and farming province would be handled in Phnom Penh (Techo/KTI). National Highway 5 connects the site to the capital over about 90 km, the only relevant logistics axis.
