## Description

The Republic of Korea Air Force's 19th Fighter Wing, flying F-16C/D and KF-16C/D jets, is the sole user of Jungwon Air Base (JWO, ICAO RKTI) near Chungju, and no civil traffic operates there. The base has no passenger terminal, no cargo warehouse and no customs post, so it cannot accept or clear commercial shipments. Shippers in North Chungcheong province use Cheongju International (CJJ), roughly an hour away by road, as their nearest civil airport with customs facilities. For intercontinental air freight the practical gateway is Incheon (ICN), by far South Korea's largest cargo airport, reached from Chungju by road feeder service on the Jungbu Expressway. Proposals to open a runway for civil or logistics use have so far remained political statements rather than confirmed projects. JWO should therefore not appear in any commercial routing.
