## Description

Roads and rivers, not aircraft, carry the cacao, oil palm and plantains of Peru's Huallaga valley. Juanjui Airport (JJI, SPJI) in the San Martín region is a basic regional field run by the state agency CORPAC, with thin scheduled service and no cargo handling whatsoever. Peru's transport ministry has included it alongside Tarapoto and Rioja in a programme to modernise the region's airports; until that work lands, operations stay limited to small aircraft.
