## Description

A rebuilt terminal is the newest fact at Juan Manuel Gálvez International (RTB, MHRO) on Roatán: the upgrade was completed in late 2025, widening waiting areas, reworking passenger flow and sizing the building for several times its previous seat capacity, with a new control tower and fire station announced. The only international airport in the Honduran Bay Islands handled more than 300,000 passengers in 2025, placing it among Central America's ten busiest fields. American, Delta, United and Avianca serve it alongside regional carriers Aerolíneas Sosa and CM Airlines, and freight moves almost entirely as belly cargo in those passenger aircraft — there is no freighter operation and no based cargo airline. Larger or time-critical consignments are routed through the mainland at San Pedro Sula (SAP), with Tegucigalpa-Palmerola (XPL) as a second option. Bulk goods reach the island by sea, on the ferry and cargo-ship link from La Ceiba.
