## Description

Jiroft Airport (JYR/OIKJ) lies in the Halil Rud valley of Kerman province, one of Iran's most productive agricultural areas for dates, citrus and early vegetables. Operated by Iran Airports Company, it has a single asphalt runway 13/31 of about 2,206 metres and is served by Mahan Air with flights to Tehran-Mehrabad and Iranshahr. No cargo terminal, freighter service or on-site customs office is confirmed, so air freight is limited to belly cargo on domestic routes. Agricultural exports therefore leave the region by refrigerated truck: Kerman (KER) is roughly 230 road kilometres to the north, Bandar Abbas (BND) with the Shahid Rajaee seaport some 300 kilometres to the south, and Iran's international air cargo capacity is concentrated at Tehran Imam Khomeini (IKA).
