## Description

A 2,500-metre runway, a terminal of roughly 7,200 square metres and Category 4C status define Jinzhou Jinzhouwan Airport (JNZ/ZYJZ) in Liaoning province, open since 10 December 2015. Reported 2025 traffic of about 285,167 passengers, 2,112 aircraft movements and 608.9 tonnes of cargo sits well below its design capacity of 550,000 passengers and 3,750 tonnes. It should not be confused with the much larger Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport project being built for Dalian. Freight at Jinzhou moves as belly cargo on domestic services; no freighter operations or dedicated cargo terminal are confirmed. Air shipments from the region are therefore trucked to Shenyang Taoxian (SHE), roughly 230 road kilometres to the north-east, or Dalian Zhoushuizi (DLC), about 350 kilometres to the south-west. For heavy consignments the seaport of Jinzhou on the Bohai Sea lies on the doorstep, making combined road-and-sea solutions straightforward. Customs clearance for air freight takes place at Shenyang or Dalian.
