## Description

JNG is one of China's younger airport codes in active use: it moved to the newly built Jining Da'an Airport in Yanzhou District when operations transferred from the ageing Jining Qufu Airport on 28 December 2023. The class-4C field operates a 2,800-metre runway with services to around 20 cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu. Freight facilities comprise an 1,800-square-metre cargo terminal handling belly loads only, although the long-term masterplan targets 40,000 tonnes a year. Until freighter services materialise, forwarders route main air cargo via Jinan Yaoqiang (TNA) or Linyi (LYI). The airport also serves Qufu, Confucius's birthplace and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
