## Description

Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines are the only carriers serving Jashore Airport (JSR/VGJR), still widely called Jessore, and both fly a single domestic route: several daily rotations to Dhaka plus a weekly service to Cox's Bazar. The field is a joint military-civil facility operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, with no cargo terminal, no freighter handling and no international cargo services. What moves by air travels as belly freight on the domestic aircraft, which limits it to small consignments, documents and samples. Export cargo from the Jashore and Khulna regions — garments, agricultural produce and aquaculture goods — is trucked roughly 200 road kilometres to Dhaka and cleared at Hazrat Shahjalal International (DAC). The Padma Bridge, opened in 2022, has shortened that run noticeably and reinforced rather than changed Jashore's feeder role. For sea freight the ports of Mongla and Chattogram are closer, while Chattogram Shah Amanat (CGP) is the country's second air cargo option.
