## Description

Largest of the Channel Islands' airports, Jersey Airport (IATA: JER, ICAO: EGJJ) handled about 1.51 million passengers in 2024 from a site roughly 8 km west of Saint Helier. British Airways, easyJet and Blue Islands link the island densely with London and other UK cities, supplemented by seasonal continental routes. No scheduled freighters operate here; air cargo travels as belly freight on passenger flights, chiefly mail and express parcels. Most of the island's goods arrive by sea via Portsmouth and Poole. For larger air-freight consignments, the UK express hub of East Midlands (EMA, about 480 km) is the reference point.
