Muzaffarpur litchis and Bihar mangoes now leave Patna through a cold store: the domestic cargo terminal opened on 25 February 2025 at Jay Prakash Narayan Airport (IATA: PAT, ICAO: VEPT) lifted annual capacity from 7,500 to 22,000 tonnes and added refrigerated handling for perishables. The 3,392-square-metre building near the Technical Block is run by AAICLAS, the Airports Authority of India's cargo subsidiary, and consolidates Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Air India Express freight in one facility.
