## Description

Trainee pilots, not freighters, own the circuit at Jakkur Aerodrome in northern Bengaluru. The field has hosted the Government Flying Training School since the late 1940s, making it one of India's oldest flying schools, and today it handles training aircraft, helicopters and the occasional airshow balloon. There are no scheduled passenger services, no cargo flights, no freight terminal and no customs facilities. Forwarders should plan all air freight for the region via Kempegowda International Airport (BLR), roughly 20 kilometres further north along the NH44 axis and one of India's largest cargo airports. The aerodrome's short runway holding out amid Bengaluru's booming tech corridor is a small curiosity in itself.
