## Description

Alliance Air anchors the schedule here, flying the short hop across the Palk Strait to Chennai (MAA), while FitsAir and Cinnamon Air link the peninsula with Ratmalana (RML) near Colombo. Known until recently as Palaly Airport and sitting about 14 kilometres north of Jaffna town, JAF reopened to international service in 2019, restoring an air link to a region long isolated during Sri Lanka's civil war. Traffic is modest and there is no meaningful air-cargo operation: no freight terminal and no scheduled freighters are documented at the airport.
