## Description

Locals still call it Dumna Airport, after the forested plateau it occupies about 20 kilometres east of Jabalpur city centre in Madhya Pradesh. JLR is a purely domestic field served by IndiGo and SpiceJet, with routes to Delhi, Mumbai and Indore among others. A new terminal opened in 2023 boosted passenger capacity considerably, but the airport has no dedicated cargo terminal. Freight forwarders moving goods from the region – including output from Jabalpur's defence and engineering factories – truck shipments via NH30/NH44 to Nagpur (NAG, roughly 280 km) or Delhi (DEL); only small express consignments travel as belly load on passenger flights.
