## Description

FlyArystan, TezJet and S7 Airlines fly most of the services at Issyk-Kul International Airport (IATA: IKU, ICAO: UCFL) in Tamchy, Kyrgyzstan, which as of July 2026 had four airlines serving five destinations, all of it passenger traffic. The airport sits on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, some 35 kilometres west of Cholpon-Ata and at roughly 1,650 metres altitude, and its season follows summer tourism to the world's second-largest alpine lake. Osh, Tashkent and Novosibirsk are the busiest routes, and Asman Airlines added Almaty in June 2025. No cargo terminal, scheduled freighter operation or permanent customs freight office is documented at IKU, so air freight for the region is handled at Bishkek instead. Manas there operates an air cargo centre with about 3,360 square metres of climate-controlled warehousing, and note that the airport switched its IATA code from FRU to BSZ on 9 August 2025. Tamchy to Manas is roughly 200 road kilometres westward, and Almaty (ALA) in Kazakhstan is a second option for heavier consignments. A new terminal complex is under construction at IKU, but it is aimed at passengers rather than freight.
